Hello, my name is Carlie Bunch. I am a first year teacher and I am so excited to start off my teaching career at Pocosin Innovative Charter as the 1st grade teacher! I am originally from Creswell but I now live in Merry Hill, NC. I graduated in December of this year from East Carolina University’s Partnership Teach program with my Bachelors of Elementary Education. Out of school you can find me spending time with my husband and our two dogs, Nala and Cash.

Hi, my name is Billie Jo I have been working with children for the past 6 years. During this time, I have had experience in different classroom settings with ages ranging from preschool through high school. I am currently working on my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Fayetteville State University. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my dogs and visiting the beach. I am so excited to be joining PIC and I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

Hey, I'm Sandie Kirkman and I am so excited to start my second year with Pocosin Innovative Charter! I graduated from East Carolina University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. During my time at ECU, I was part of the prestigious Teaching Fellows Scholarship This will be my eighth year of teaching; I taught first grade for two years and have been teaching kindergarten since 2015. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two dogs-Samuel and Princess

I am Josh Laverty and I teach Health & Physical Education. I received my Bachelors’ in Kinesiology from Elizabeth City State University and was the starting Placekicker for the football team my Junior and Senior year. This will be my fourth year teaching, but second doing Health/PE. I served as the head soccer coach for both the middle and high schools. Some of my personal interests are kayaking, playing golf, disc golf and hunting/fishing. I am excited to enter my first year here at Pocosin!
