ADMISSIONS
Welcome to Pocosin Innovative Charter School,
Applying begins the process of becoming a part of the Pocosin family. We are thrilled to serve students from any of our counties in our school's region. The Lottery Application for 2022-2023 will be available January 1, 2022.
Lottery Information
Admission is based on a weighted lottery system if the school receives more applications than open seats during the open enrollment time period.
Acceptance & Waitlist
The school will post the results of the lottery on the website within 5 business days of the lottery.
Parents will be notified of the lottery results via email within 24 hours of the lottery. If a student has been admitted to the school, the parent/guardian of the student will be contacted via email unless they indicated on their application that they do not have access to email.
If the parent is unable to receive email, an acceptance letter will be mailed to the child’s residence. Students admitted before April 15 will have 10 calendar days from the date their acceptance email was sent to accept or decline enrollment and 5 days from the time of the acceptance email to turn in enrollment paperwork.
Acceptance Documentation
Accepted families who enroll will be required to submit eligibility documentation and must read and agree to follow the Pocosin Innovative Charter School policies and procedures.
Prior to attending School, the parent is required to submit all documents for registration including proof of residence, immunization records and other documents needed.

Pocosin Innovative Charter School is a public school and requires no application fee or tuition. In order to be eligible for admission, students are required to reside in the State of North Carolina at the time of the application.
Under North Carolina General Statute (GS115C-391), Pocosin Innovative Charter School may refuse admission to any student who has been expelled or suspended from a public school, until the period of suspension or expulsion has expired.
Pocosin Innovative Charter School does not limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, or ancestry.
